日晚間，推廣台灣本土作曲家聖樂與藝術歌曲不遺餘力的賴鴻毅牧師，親切又帶著泥土味的歌聲，不時從台加大廳揚起。賴牧師娓娓道來，其出身自南投縣魚池鄉魚池村廟公世家，經過一段流浪的人生歲月，
到進入台灣神學院就讀，成為長老教會牧師。
在牧會十六年後，因對台灣本土聖樂及藝術歌曲的一股捨我其誰的熱忱，十二年來毅然決然全心投入，四處奔波介紹、演唱、錄製台灣本土創作歌曲之心路歷程。
前後兩小時，
一直到與全體來賓同唱「講一聲再會」後才結束。
賴牧師宏亮的歌聲與像說話般清楚的咬字，現場演唱分享林福裕老師的作品「後山調」「淡薄仔朋友」「土地公土地伯」，陳武雄老師的「永遠的家園」「創造真善美的世紀」，
還有鄭煥壁老師的「思念故鄉」等，贏得滿堂掌聲。也有許多人當場加入賴牧師推廣台灣本土創作的行列，支持他繼續這條不該孤單的路。感謝賴牧師贈送其目前出版共九輯之台灣藝術歌曲專輯，與台語聖樂卡拉 OK專輯給台加，讓錯過的朋友還有機會欣賞。
《林俊義教授反核演講》

日晚上，前台灣駐英大使林俊義博士，繼其在加台會發表演說「對自己生命價值的誠實：反對運動與公共事務的參與」之後，在台加公開演講「從福島一廠及車諾堡的災難，我學到了什麼？」。座無虛席，顯現大家對核能與核災的重視，也看出大家對遠方故鄉核安的關切。
全場盯著林俊義博士專程前往車諾堡眼見的災難後景象，以及今年日本地震海嘯後， 福島核電廠的事故與善後，表情沉重。
林博士從打破科學中立的神話，點出科學從造福人類到今日嚴重商業化與政治化的嚴重後果。林博士在走過學界與政界的歷練之後，以其專業的學識與觀察，在原本已退休，可充分享受人生，做自己喜歡的事的時候，
因其對自己生命價值的誠實，及對台灣這片土地永續經營的關懷，
決意再次投入反對運動。將通過一連串四處演講呼籲反核，來繼續為非核家園貢獻心力。

台加金齡中心
台加金齡中心可愛的長輩們，配合木魚的節奏，一共分享了十一首台灣水果唸謠。從鳳梨兄西瓜嫂，一口氣柳丁、荔枝、釋迦、龍眼、蓮霧、芎蕉、甘蔗、楊桃、
檨仔、那拔仔 ….
聽著聽著，口水都要流出來，叫人想念台灣一年四季多樣豐盛的水果。台灣真是寶島，心中忍不住默默感謝台灣農民一輩子的辛苦貢獻。
台加星光幫
台加星光幫受邀参與2011年加台會「台灣之夜-台灣走一回」的演出，成員在獲悉表演塲地是在 M. J.
Fox劇院且與十幾個社團一起表演，大家都心裹有數，不能等閒視之、更不能敷衍了數。於是兩個月前在星光幫節目負責人Sonia的安排、分配與督促之下隨即展開一連串密集訓練及排演。台加星光幫這次擔任"群星會時代"，因此就把姚蘇蓉、楊小萍、青山、謝雷、張琪、余天、崔台菁、尤雅、鳳飛飛等人的成名曲搬出來，模仿他們的歌及穿着打扮，讓人彷彿又瞥見昔日台灣歌壇巨星的風采。
星光幫這次共十三位成員，一出塲就合唱一首"群星頌"，結束時再以伍佰的"妳是我的花朵"加上團体勁舞，呈現出台加星光幫能唱也能跳，果然得到熱烈掌聲。
此次「台灣走一回」基本上不在强調個人表現，而是着重在歌曲串連接力演唱之後的整体舞台效果，以及它所勾勒出的台灣意象與思鄉情結。歌曲內容精簡濃縮却包羅萬象，從日治時代開始一路唱到當今時下的流行歌曲，時間上橫跨近一個世紀的台灣流行歌曲的歷史。表演當天，台下的觀眾在那曲曲動聽、源源不絕的歌聲繚繞中，半夢半醒的時空交錯間，整体氣氛足足可以勾起身為台灣人的你我，那久遠的記憶，古早味的甜蜜與淡淡的鄉愁。 |

台加土風舞社
台加土風舞社在台灣之夜共參與演出四個舞蹈，包括草螟弄雞公、打獵舞、最後一夜及豐年海洋之歌。身著五彩繽紛的亮麗服裝，配上動感的舞蹈，四度上場，展現表情豐富的台灣原住民狩獵、歡慶景象與草螟弄雞公的幽默詼諧，還有最後一夜的動人舞步。

Volunteer Experience at TCCS Summer Camp》

My week at TCCS Youth
Day Camp as a volunteer was a short but enlightening
experience overall. The camp was a great opportunity for
children ages 7 to 14 to meet new friends, embrace new
cultures, and discover new interests while also obtaining
valuable knowledge that will prepare them through life. It
was a huge success due to our campers, the teachers, and the
staff members that organized the event. The manager,
Michael, dedicated a lot of time and effort in order to
allow the youth group an enriching week of fun.
The camp as especially wonderful due to the variety of
classes and sessions offered throughout the four days.
Students gained insight and new knowledge throughout the
week, learning how to manage money, master the sport of
"feather-hacking", reveal their inner potential, lead a
healthy life, speak Taiwanese phrases, perform unique
international folk dances, play the chess game "Go", and so
much more! At the end of the week, the children were
presented with both a completion certificate and a file full
of the things they learned from the daily sessions.
Towards the end of the camp, we had a special guest teacher
come in and teach us the importance of manners in society. A
professional instructor on etiquette, Winnie Ko not only
lectured us on the basics of manners, such as clapping in a
formal fashion, but also on complex detailed procedures,
like how to dine properly at a fancy restaurant. Although
many of the kids were too young to understand the
significance of formality in society, they still learned
various things that they will eventually use in their future
years.
In all, the week was a delightful experience for the
campers, the teachers, and the volunteers. As an assistant,
I gathered a lot of new knowledge from working with the
students and alongside the teachers. This day camp is a
fantastic chance for children to mingle with their peers and
learn new things while also having a marvelous time with
their friends. Youth ages 7 to 14 are invited to join us
next summer for another wonderful week full of learning,
fun, and interactions!

《2011年溫哥華區台灣美食廚藝巡迴講座』報導》

為期兩天由僑務委員會主辦，台加文化協會承辦的『2011年溫哥華區台灣美食廚藝巡迴講座』在6月14、15日順利舉行，並在掌聲中圓滿落幕，大受好評。
遠道而來的台灣廚藝界泰斗黃德忠老師，現為台北頂廚國宴廚藝總監、聖母專科學校副教授、為重要美食展的召集人且擔任廚師鑑定考試的命題與評審委員，更常是台灣電視廚藝節目貴賓。而黃清吉老師現為義美食品公司總主廚，曾是各項廚藝比賽的常勝軍及台灣名餐廳的主廚。
兩位老師皆以高超精湛的廚藝、俐落簡潔的手法、幽默風趣的講解，在短短兩天共七小時的時間內，示範了17道菜餚，包羅了地方小吃菜：宜蘭卜肉、客家粄條，有創意新菜：翠玉白菜、肉形石、波霸奶奶鍋，有古早味台菜：五香雞捲、紅糟肉，有經典酒家菜：蕃茄肉醬排骨蒜鍋、魷魚螺肉蒜鍋，還有頂級國宴菜：蜈蚣蟳、花開富貴等等。此外，老師更講得一口好菜，把一些名菜的歷史來源典故說得淋漓盡致，讓人聽得津津有味，真是一場名符其實的美食文化饗宴。兩天的講座．大家眼睛盯著講台、雙手抄著筆記、嘴巴品嚐著美食，忙得不可開交。對老師知無不言、言無不盡、傾囊相授的教學熱忱，在場所有學員深受感動，除了帶著滿滿收穫回去並期待如此好的學習活動能經常舉辦。
有鑑於此，先前曾深受大家喜愛的『台加快樂廚房俱樂部』，希望在不久的將來能夠重起爐灶，屆時歡迎舊雨新知光臨，欲知詳情，請隨時注意台加的月刊。
